Cleave Farm is located on the edge of the Blackdown Hills AONB, overlooking Combe Water Valley. Rach and Nic moved to Cleave in 2021, and will be milking dairy cows from April, with milk sold to Wykes cheese makers based in Bruton, Somerset. Nic and Rach both bring extensive farming experience to the farm, Nic specialising in dairy herds and Rach in pig, sheep and beef suckler cow herds. They also have a small helper called Jack, who loves all animals and tractors.
Animal welfare and quality of life are at the heart of how the farm operates, alongside having a positive effect on the environment through minimising the farm's carbon footprint and increasing biodiversity.
The sows at Cleave have access to indoor and outdoor areas 24 hours a day, and as you can see are very happy pigs! The breeding sows Silver, Penny, Maple, Acorn and Pepper are a mixture of Gloucester Old Spot, Large White and Pietrain, which gives pork that is packed with flavour, and has a perfect amount of fat for cooking.
The sows are not pushed to farrow intensively as they would be in large scale pig units, having an average of three litters every two years.
After farrowing, the piglets stay with the sows for 8-10 weeks compared to 2-3 weeks in many intensive systems.

You can order minced pork, sausages, chops, and joints in various sizes. Joints are leg, shoulder, belly pork, tenderloin, ham and gammon joints.
Additionally we offer starter boxes, medium boxes, half pigs and whole pigs.

All meat will be vacuum packed.
We can offer frozen meat at all times, and fresh refrigerated meat at least once a month.
